Herbert Frei was born in 1945 and is a graduate engineer. He has been a diver since 1973 and, as an underwater photographer, specializes in freshwater and pool photography. Herbert Frei now only goes into the bathtub without his camera - diving without a camera is unimaginable for him. He immediately subjects new cameras or lenses to an extensive practical test. His opinion is highly valued in professional circles.
As a book author and illustrator, he has published regularly since the 1970s, writes articles for domestic and foreign diving and photography magazines and conducts underwater photography seminars at home and abroad. As an expert in underwater photographic technology, he developed a measuring method for testing the performance data of amphibian flashes under water.
