Crafting an Infinite Paper Wheel: with Instructions & Video

Are you looking for a craft idea that surprises and excites you? Then the Infinite Paper Wheel is just right for you!

This homemade fidget toy variant is perfect if you're looking for something that calms, engages, and is also creative. You hardly need any materials, no special tools – just paper, patience, and the desire to create something with your own hands. Ideal for relaxing in between or as a little distraction in everyday life.

Whether colorful, simple, or patterned – your Infinite Paper Wheel can look however you want.

On our learning platform, you will find many projects about folding origami games that promote concentration while being fun. Each craft idea is accompanied by clear step-by-step descriptions, photos, and an easy-to-understand video. We produced this project ourselves so that you can follow every step.

The crafting process itself is almost meditative: While you fold, repeat, and glue, a shape slowly emerges that moves endlessly – and that's exactly what makes it appealing.

How to craft the Infinite Paper Wheel

This project is perfect for anyone who wants to create something impressive with little material. You'll soon see how the individual folding strips come together to form a movable ring – and can spin endlessly.

You will need:

  • Colored paper
  • Glue stick
  • Ruler
  • Pencil

Infinite Paper Wheel Step 1: Materials for the Paper Wheel
Step 1: First, check if you have all the materials. If so – let’s get started!
Infinite Paper Wheel Step 2: Measure, mark, cut the paper square, and fold it in the middle
Step 2: Take the first sheet of paper. Measure a square with the ruler, mark it with the pencil, and cut off the rest. Fold the square in half.
Infinite Paper Wheel Step 3: Accordion folding in W shape, stand vertically and fold horizontally
Step 3: Without opening the sheet, fold alternately each side outward – like an accordion. When viewed from above, it looks like the letter W. Position the fold vertically and fold it once horizontally in the middle.
Infinite Paper Wheel Step 4: Fold the paper strip multiple times until a narrow, firm strip is created
Step 4: Fold the resulting strip back in half – and again. Now fold both ends outward as in the previous step. This creates a narrow, firm paper strip.
Infinite Paper Wheel Step 5: Open the strips and fold them back along the crease lines
Step 5: Carefully open the strip again and then fold it back along the lines – first in the middle, then each side back.
Infinite Paper Wheel Step 6: Glue seven W-shaped elements on top of each other with a glue stick
Step 6: Fold everything back into a small, firm accordion. Lay it out in the shape of a W, as shown in the picture. Make seven such W-forms. Glue them together with the glue stick by stacking them. When you connect both ends, your finished paper wheel is created!

Your work is complete!

Congratulations – your Infinite Paper Wheel is ready to try out! You will be amazed at how smoothly it spins and how relaxing this movement feels. A great toy that you can take anywhere.
