Minecraft Pencil Boxes: Step-by-Step Instructions with Photos and Explanations

Preparation and Materials

Before starting, you should have all materials ready. We only use materials that are easily available for our instructions, which you probably already have at home or can buy at the nearest supermarket or stationery store.

You will need the following for the Minecraft pencil boxes:

  • White A4 paper or thin cardboard
  • Colored paper (green for the Creeper, pink/red for the pig, beige/brown for the skeleton zombie)
  • Black fineliner or thin felt-tip pen
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick or transparent tape
  • Optional: white gel pens for details

Safety Notice

This crafting instruction is suitable for children aged 6 years and older. Younger children should be supported by adults when handling scissors and when precisely measuring and cutting. The finished boxes are made of paper, so they should be protected from moisture to avoid damage.

Step 1: First, cut out a sheet of the required size from the A4 sheet, namely 27*18 cm. Then flip it over and divide the sheet with lines into 3 equally wide strips of 6 cm each.

Step 2: Fold along these lines. Each of the two outer sides must be folded towards the center along the crease line and then in the opposite direction. Watch how I do this in the video to understand it better.

Step 3: Fold the corners in at the edges.

Step 4: Fold the sheet together to form a box.

Step 5: Now take another sheet and cut out a rectangle measuring 22*21 cm. Then take the box that you have already folded and use it as a template to draw lines with the pencil on the sheet. The point is that we are now creating the outer part of our pencil case, into which the box will be inserted. Therefore, the width of the strips should correspond to the width of the box sides.

Step 6: Next, you need to paint the outer part of the pencil case in Minecraft style. This style is also called PixelArt. Then wrap this sheet around the box and glue the edges together where they touch. Finished! Look how cool it turned out. No kidding: I showed how to make such a box from thin paper, but to keep its shape, you can use thick cardboard to make the pencil case.
