In ancient Egypt, hieroglyphs were considered sacred characters used to record important rituals and stories of gods. Every stone in a temple or tomb carried special symbols crafted by the scribe as a work of art. In our template, children are seen in training, as young Egyptians often learned the art of writing in temple schools – they practiced on slate tablets until the characters stood firm. The hieroglyphs consisted of pictorial signs: birds, water waves, human figures, or symbolic tools.

Even back then, carpenters mixed brushes and dyes from minerals to make the walls glow. Red from ochre, blue from azurite, gold replaced by orpiment – the choice of colors was intentional and represented elements like the sun, river, and power. Children played an important role: they copied larger representations, practiced faces and characters, and thus learned the secrets of their culture.

Every hieroglyph tells a story: of pharaohs, goddesses, the Nile, and the infinity of life. While coloring this scene, you get to choose the color for a falcon, a lotus flower, or a seated scribe. In this way, you can feel the curiosity of the explorers and the artistic curiosity of the young apprentices in ancient Egypt.
