Maxon announced touch support for Cinema 4D and ZBrush on November 6, 2026. Both programs now run on the new MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display, Maxon writes in the press release. Touch operation follows at the end of November.
Apple has been shipping the first Mac model with a touchscreen since November 6, and pre-orders were possible in Germany from October 28. The sensor is integrated into the display. You scroll with a swipe gesture, zoom with two fingers, and a double tap opens full-screen mode. Keyboard and trackpad remain in use, as Apple describes in the announcement.
What do Touch and Spatial Preview offer?
Touch is meant to complement mouse, keyboard, and trackpad, not replace them. Maxon has not yet said which gestures Cinema 4D and ZBrush will understand. The company names ZBrush for iPad as a predecessor.

Cinema 4D additionally gets the function "Open in Spatial Preview". The function brings a scene to the Apple Vision Pro at original size via Mac Virtual Display, and several people can view the same scene at the same time. Maxon names interiors, showrooms, and trade fair booths as examples. The requirements are visionOS 27 on the Vision Pro and macOS 27 on the Mac.
Blackmagic was faster: DaVinci Resolve 21.2 already supports the touchscreen of the same MacBook Pro, as TutKit reported.
What does the MacBook Pro cost, and what remains open?
Apple offers the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display with M5 Pro or M5 Max, in 14 and 16 inches and with up to 128 GB of unified memory. Apple lists the euro prices in the German announcement; all four configurations are in the four-digit range.
The version number remains open, as does the question of whether the existing license includes the touch features. Maxon names neither prices nor system requirements beyond the two operating system versions. Apple notes in a footnote that the apps will only appear later in the year; the end-of-November date fits with that.
What this means for you
If you are planning a new Mac for 3D work anyway, this model fits the announced features. Touch alone is not yet a reason to buy, because until the end of November support is missing in both programs.
Check at the end of November whether an update for Cinema 4D and ZBrush is available. It's best to test the gestures first with a ZBrush sculpt, since Maxon names the iPad version as the predecessor for ZBrush.
If you show clients designs for interiors or trade fair booths, you additionally need an Apple Vision Pro with visionOS 27 for Spatial Preview. Maxon explicitly names client feedback as a use case. Try out the preview yourself once before the first appointment.
Maxon presented the new features on November 6, 2026.
