A single sentence in the sidebar is enough for Gemini in Google Slides to rework several slides or an entire slide deck. Google presented the new feature in the Workspace Updates blog and has been rolling it out gradually since October 29; until every account sees the feature, more than 15 days may pass.

Gemini decides for itself which slides need to change. The result ends up as normal, editable slides in your presentation, so you can continue editing every change by hand.

What does Gemini change on all slides at once?

Google names four use cases, each with an example prompt:

  • Refresh the design: change fonts, backgrounds, and color schemes across the entire slide deck, also modeled on another presentation from Google Drive.
  • Revise content: simplify, expand, or realign the presentation, based on files from Drive.
  • Summarize or add to slides, for example with the prompt "Summarize slides 5–7 into a single slide".
  • Format consistently: set all slide titles to the same size and color or remove the slide numbers.

After the run, Gemini summarizes the changes in the sidebar. Google Slides treats the changes like your own input: with Undo or via the version history, you can revert individual steps.

Which plans get the feature?

The editing feature is being enabled in Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, in the consumer subscriptions Google AI Pro and Ultra, and in Google AI Pro for Education. In Business Starter, Gemini is missing entirely in Google Präsentationen (as Slides is called in German), as the Google pricing overview shows. Free accounts are absent from the announcement. Google does not provide a separate admin setting for the feature.

When will the feature come in German?

Google does not give a date for German. At launch, Google supports the feature only in English, and the help page on Gemini in Google Slides additionally restricts it to the computer. German was already missing in the first expansion stage: On June 30, Google had announced that Gemini can create entire presentations anew with a single prompt, likewise only in US English. Four months later, the revision of existing slide decks is added, and German is still missing.

For creating multi-slide presentations, higher usage limits apply for Workspace customers until at least December 1, 2026. After that, per-person limits take effect, about which Google wants to share more in the help beforehand.

What this means for you

The style transfer in particular saves time as soon as a client sends a new corporate design: instead of recoloring thirty slides one by one, you specify the new template as a reference file. It's best to try this out on a copy first and read the summary in the sidebar carefully, because Gemini selects the affected slides itself. In terms of content, you check each slide afterward before the presentation goes to the client.

Write your prompts in English and describe the change as concretely as Google's examples: which slides, which font size, which color. Whether Gemini cleanly continues writing a German slide deck in German is left open by Google, so read the changed texts especially thoroughly. If you work with Business Starter, think about how often you rework entire slide decks before switching to Business Standard. The basics of slides, layouts, and designs in Google Slides are shown in the Google Slides tutorial on TutKit. How Gemini edits PDFs and Google Docs in chat is explained in our news on the file editor in Gemini.

Google presented the new feature on October 30, 2026.
