On October 30, 2026, Figma enabled internal publishing of Weave tools for the Organization and Enterprise plans. Custom AI tools now appear in Figma Design alongside the tools from Figma and from the community, visible only to members of your own organization. Figma announced the move in its Release Notes.

Weave tools are small AI applications for images in a design file, for example for mockups. Behind each tool is a workflow of connected nodes, built in Figma Weave, a separate program at weave.figma.com.

What changes for teams on the Organization plan?

Teams on the Organization and Enterprise plans can now make their own Weave tools available directly to the organization, while the public community remains closed to them. To do so, in Figma Weave you create a tool from a finished workflow and choose publishing to your organization in the share dialog. Your team then finds the tool in Figma Design under Tools in the navigation bar, as soon as the filter is set to Weave.

In Figma Design, only tools that output an image or a vector graphic run; video and 3D workflows stay in Weave.

If desired, the AI settings in Figma's admin area block publishing and at the same time all tools from the community and from your own organization; the tools from Figma remain usable. In Weave, the admin additionally determines whether members may publish within the organization at all.

Since October 26, external AI agents have also been accessing the image and video models from Weave, via Figma's MCP server, an interface for AI assistants.

Who can use Weave tools, and what does a run cost?

You can use Weave tools on the Professional, Organization and Enterprise plans; to run them you need edit rights to the design file. Figma names no regional restriction, so the tools are also available in Germany. Freelancers on the Professional plan publish their own tools only in the public community; the community does not accept tools with models that Figma has not verified.

Each run consumes AI credits from your seat's allowance. A Full seat, the seat with full access, includes 3,000 credits per month on the Professional plan, 3,500 on the Organization plan and 4,250 on the Enterprise plan. A mockup or a new background with the tools from Figma costs 19 credits, a sticker set 78 and a series of product variants 110 (as of October 15, 2026). For tools from the community or your own team, consumption depends on the workflow.

A calculation example: with the 3,500 credits of a Full seat on the Organization plan, you would arithmetically get around 184 mockups per month, but only 31 series of product variants. Figma Make and the Figma agent draw on the same allowance.

What this means for you

If your team works on the Organization or Enterprise plan, it's worth looking at tasks that always run the same way: product mockups in the client's design, backgrounds for an image series. It's best to build such a process once in Weave and lock the nodes with fixed settings, for example the prompt with the brand colors. Locked nodes do not appear as a setting in the tool.

Before the first publishing, it's best to ask your admin about both settings. If the admin switches off Weave tools in Figma, the community tools your team may already be working with also disappear. How Figma connects its agent with Google Drive can be found in our report on the Figma agent.

On the Professional plan, client logos and prompts with client names do not belong in a published tool; for such jobs, it's better to share the tool in Weave by invitation only. You can see the consumption of a run after generating, as soon as you click the blue checkmark and hover the mouse over the AI credits icon. You can also create mockups with AI in Adobe Firefly, as the lesson on mockups in Adobe Firefly shows.
