The agent in Figma Design now delivers icons and illustrations as clearly structured vector graphics that you can edit afterward without redrawing. According to the Release Notes, the vector graphics consist of individual, sensibly grouped layers, and the agent draws lines as strokes instead of filled shapes.

The agent is the AI feature in Figma Design that creates and modifies designs on the canvas.

What changes with the agent's vectors?

Figma names four improvements. The layers stay independent and are grouped by meaning, so you can revise an icon set piece by piece. You attach your own illustrations as a style reference so that the agent creates further elements or icons in the same style, according to Figma also in large numbers. It assembles lines from strokes, so stroke weight and line endings change without redrawing. The tidied-up layer structure is also suitable for animating in Figma Motion, by you or by the agent.

Figma does not state how many credits a request costs

Figma does not back up how good the results look with examples; the release note merely speaks of cleanly crafted vector graphics. Which plan you need is not stated there either. Figma does not mention any regional restriction, and the release notes and pricing page are also available in German. According to the pricing page, Figma Motion is still in beta and is available in Full seats, that is, in the seat with full access.

Which credits does the agent use?

Since October 6, 2026, the agent in Figma Design has been generally available and consumes AI credits; during the beta it was free. This is stated in the FAQ on AI credits in Figma's Help Center. The German pricing page and Figma's page on the vector generator, on the other hand, still list the agent as a free beta; only the help page gives a date.

Figma does not quantify how many credits a request costs. Usage depends on the prompt, the agent's actions, and the context, such as connected libraries or attached files. The agent shares the budget with Figma Make and the Weave tools.

Every seat includes a monthly allowance. According to the pricing page, that is 3,000 credits in the Full seat of the Professional plan, 3,500 in the Organization plan, and 4,250 in the Enterprise plan; all other seats and the Starter plan get 500, in the Starter plan at most 150 per day. If the budget is empty, the agent shows zero credits. The limits reset monthly, and admins can purchase additional credits.

What this means for you

If you build icon sets with the agent, what changes most is the refinement: you adjust stroke weight and line endings on the strokes instead of redrawing shapes. First have the agent create three icons and compare their lines with your existing ones before you have it generate an entire set. If you attach your own illustrations as a reference, check whether the style remains consistent across several icons.

Because the pricing page and Help Center contradict each other, you are better off calculating with credits per request and checking Figma's credit display before a large set. If you work in a team, ask your admin whether the budget is enough for Make, Weave tools, and the agent or whether someone is purchasing additional credits.

How to connect the agent to Google Drive is explained in our report on the Figma agent. The statement there that the agent is still running for free in the beta is no longer correct according to the help page.

Figma announced the update in its release notes on November 5, 2026.
