Fur and whiskers, eyes and expression, color mood and background - learn a workflow for creating epic cat photos - that special something for your clients.
You can expect a video tutorial on how to take epic cat portraits yourself.
In this first chapter, you will find out what equipment you can use for a cat shoot, what tools you should have with you and what the lighting setup for the portraits you want to take can look like. I'll tell you exactly what equipment I use for what and why I chose one piece of equipment over another.
Now I'll show you what the setup for a cat shoot can look like. I'm working with a cat owner whose three cats we'll be photographing in this chapter. You'll find out how the light should be set and how the cat should be positioned. You will also get tips and tricks on how to handle the animals, even if they are very anxious, for example.
In this chapter, I will introduce you to image editing with the first image. I will show you the preparations in Adobe Lightroom and the first adjustments and corrections in Photoshop.
In this tutorial, I'll show you a technique for creating your own textures from scratch in Photoshop. We will use these textures as a new background in our images for further processing.
This chapter continues the image editing process and we add the specially created background textures to the cat image to give it a more dramatic look and to adapt the image more closely to the cat depicted.
This is the last chapter on image editing. We'll now apply all the techniques we've learned to a new image and I'll show you some approaches for adjusting the floor on which the cat is sitting. Now you are perfectly prepared for image editing.
You've now learned everything I've learned about cat photography over the last four years. You know how to handle the animals during a shoot and how to make the pictures look really epic in post-production. Apply what you've learned to your own or other cats! I hope you have lots of fun with it!
