Turn your portrait into a star and roll out the red carpet - with this training you'll enter the imaginative world of one of the most successful series on the planet. "Winter is here" - and you're in!
You can expect an exciting video training on poster creation in the style of "Game of Thrones" with Photoshop and Lightroom.
Welcome to this video training. Here you will learn how to recreate the famous Game of Thrones portrait style and make yourself the star of the series. In this part, you will find out what requirements the portrait must meet and how you can take a suitable picture for this retouching yourself.
In this training we will prepare the image for the actual editing with Photoshop by making a few basic settings in Adobe Lightroom.
In the first step of editing in Photoshop, we cleanse the skin of all coarse impurities and thus ensure a more balanced appearance. This step is important for later editing, as otherwise skin impurities would become more and more prominent during the editing process.
Now it's time for the fine retouching of the skin. Using Dodge & Burn, we give the skin an even, smooth appearance without losing any of the skin's structure. The result is perfect skin that still looks like skin. We also start to shape the face using light and shadow.
Now it's time to create the actual color look. In this first step, we will define the rough color tone for the later image and at the same time edit the eye by adjusting the eye color and the brilliance of the eye. This editing will later serve as the basis for replacing the eye reflection.
Next, various contrast adjustments are made to further perfect the look of the image and make the face appear more vivid and present. It's also time for some drastic sharpening to give the image the right frosty look.
Finally, the color look is reworked once again and thus continuously improved and adjusted. Various adjustment layers for subtle changes to the toning are applied before the color look is finished.
To complete the picture, the snow and the text are still missing. A snow texture is included with the training so that you can immediately give your picture the right wintry look. The lettering completes our movie poster and makes you the new star of Game of Thrones.
Finally, let's take another look at the dramatic before-and-after comparison. Our portrait is almost unrecognizable. At the same time, it can now seamlessly join the ranks of Game of Thrones movie posters.
