Adobe Dimension CC Tutorial: 01 | Welcome to the video training

Welcome to this beginner's video training on Adobe Dimension CC. In the intro I will introduce myself and you will get an insight into the topics we will cover together in this course.

02 Open

Adobe Dimension CC Tutorial: 02 | Navigation in 3D space and its uniqueness

In this video, we set up the workspace. We get to know the available units of measurement in Adobe Dimension CC and work with the raster display. The 3D space gives us the opportunity to view the entire scene from every conceivable angle. We first learn how to navigate and move around in the room. Finally, we save the appropriate camera views.

03 Open

Adobe Dimension CC Tutorial: 03 | Importing models and the potential of 3D renderings

Adobe Dimension CC comes from the ground up with free assets as a starter kit. In this video, we learn about the different ways to import 3D models into the work environment, while recognizing the incredible potential this has for us. Freelancers, agencies and designers have a tool with which they can create attractive product representations and designs in order to present them even better.

04 Open

Adobe Dimension CC Tutorial: 04 | Modify models and create selections

In this video, we will learn how to create the right selection for models, which is particularly helpful when dealing with multiple objects on the workspace. On the other hand, we learn how to move, scale and rotate the models individually.

05 Open

Adobe Dimension CC Tutorial: 05 | Get more models (assets) from Adobe Stocker

If the starter kit is no longer sufficient, additional work materials can be obtained from the in-house Adobe Stocker service. The application is fully integrated into the workspace of Adobe Dimension CC and can also be easily accessed from there to obtain additional models.

06 Open

Adobe Dimension CC Tutorial: 06 | Designing models and applying surface materials

Now it's time to shape and design individual objects. To do this, we can work with the material properties and influence their attributes such as color, roughness, opacity or metallic look. Each attribute can also be used with patterns to create exciting repetition effects.

07 Open

Adobe Dimension CC Tutorial: 07 | The peculiarities of material and how to photograph it yourself

To get fresh material, you can either use the Adobe Stocker service or take your own photos. This works in a very simple workflow with the Adobe Capture app for iOS and Android. This turns the camera into a structure generator - it captures the structure with which the 3D models can then be equipped. Ingenious!

The complete documentation of the material properties can be accessed here: https://helpx.adobe.com/de/dimension/using/standard-materials.html

08 Open

Adobe Dimension CC Tutorial: 08 | Placing graphics and logos on models

Individual isolated graphics can now be placed on the models, giving the model its identity-creating character. In this video, I explain the options for importing graphics and how material attributes influence the appearance of the graphics.

09 Open

Adobe Dimension CC Tutorial: 09 | Creating entire scenes with backgrounds

Now it gets exciting: we enhance a composition with a background image and recognize the ease with which attributes such as ambient light, camera perspective and sunlight can be precisely attuned to our work.

10 Open

Adobe Dimension CC Tutorial: 10 | The extraordinary power of the right light

Adobe Dimension CC offers individual preset light setups. These ambient lights are panoramic images that are spherically wrapped around a 3D scene so that the objects can be illuminated from all sides. This creates exciting reflections, shadows and lighting effects, which can also be customized according to personal preference.

11 Open

Adobe Dimension CC Tutorial: 11 | Exporting 3D scenes and how render time is affected

Rendering is the process of converting 3D information into a 2D image. To create photorealistic images, Adobe Dimension CC simulates how light would behave in the same way in the real world. In this video we look at the render preview and the render mode, we learn about different file formats for rendering and also the factors on which the render time depends.

12 Open

Adobe Dimension CC Tutorial: 12 | Recreating the Cover (Bonus)

In this chapter, we will revisit some of the tools and approaches we have already learned by recreating the illustration of the product cover. The creative scenery offers plenty of scope for free-spiritedness and shows that Adobe Dimension CC can be used to create not only product mockups, but also vivid composings.
