Beauty retouching explained: from presets to digital make-up

Then welcome to an instructive tutorial that will enable you to retouch your own images to a high standard .

In concrete terms, this means that you will learn how to remove the worst skin blemishes, imperfections and unwanted highlights. You will learn procedures to soften wrinkles as desired, whiten teeth and correct their contours. You also use dodge & burn, i.e. lightening and darkening, to create a more vivid appearance. You apply suitable make-up, sculpt the face and make it more symmetrical.

You also apply frequency separation, which allows you to work on the colors and structures of a portrait independently of each other: remove blotchy areas of skin without affecting the details and then work on these same details without affecting the colors.
