As I explain this, take a look at the thumbnails of the layers located on the right side of the user interface.

Now you see three different layers here. At the top, we have a colored image, in the middle a black-and-white layer, and at the bottom a blue layer. Remember: The top layer is always the one that is visible.

If I now pull the colored layer down to the bottom, what will happen? Let's take a look at that.

I pull the colored layer down and release it. Now you see that the main subject is in black and white. This is because the black-and-white layer is now at the top.

To make another layer visible, there are several ways. One method is to simply drag the desired layer up.

This means that the black-and-white layer is now visible, and when I save the image, it will be saved in black and white.

You can also toggle the visibility of a layer by clicking on the eye icon.

If you click on it, the eye will be crossed out, and the layer will no longer be visible. If it ever happens that you think the black-and-white layer is not showing up, check if the eye icon for that layer is active.
